the rally in the Indian city witnessed widespread condemnation of the Saudi regime’s policies regarding Jannat al-Baqi, with protesters demanding the immediate restoration of the sacred site.
‘One hundred years of destruction, no action’
Addressing the gathering, Hojatoleslam Kalbe Jawad Naqvi, the secretary-general of the Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Hind (Council of Indian Scholars), expressed deep regret that a century has passed since the demolition of Jannat al-Baqi, yet no meaningful action has been taken for its reconstruction.
“All factions of Muslims must unite for the reconstruction of Jannat al-Baqi,” Naqvi declared, lamenting that serious opposition has been absent from certain quarters.
He reminded the crowd that Jannat al-Baqi houses the grave of the daughter of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH), Lady Fatima Zahra (SA), as well as the revered wives of the Prophet and several companions. “The silence of Muslims regarding the destruction of these graves reflects a lack of honor and commitment,” he stated.
‘Scholars bought by Saudi Arabia, America’
The Indian scholar launched a sharp critique against certain Muslim scholars, accusing them of being in the pay of Saudi Arabia and the United States.
“Today, America and Israel are attacking Iran with the support of some Muslim countries, yet these same scholars do not even issue a condemnation,” Naqvi said. He noted that they remained silent even in the face of the martyrdom of innocent young girls in US attacks on Minab—a silence he described as a sign of intellectual backwardness and subservience.
Naqvi asserted that with the defeat of America, the reactionary regimes in the region will also fall, to be replaced by free, popular governments.
‘Arab rulers are children of Jews, not Muslims’
The prominent Indian scholar did not spare Arab rulers, condemning their silence in the face of Israeli and American strikes on Iran.
“These rulers are the children of Jews; they are not Muslims,” Naqvi declared. He added that they remained silent during the atrocities in Gaza and the massacre of thousands of women and children. He predicted that if America is defeated in its war with Iran, the world will witness popular revolutions across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and other Muslim nations.
‘Iran’s reopening of Strait of Hormuz to India a victory for Indian people’
Naqvi also touched upon Iran’s decision to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to India, describing the move as a victory for the Indian people.
“The Indian government stands with America, but the people of India supported Iran, and for that reason, Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz to India,” he explained. He noted that today, Hindus, Muslims, and even followers of other religions in India have united in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The rally saw protesters chanting slogans against the Saudi royal family, burning effigies of Mohammed bin Salman to express their rage over the destruction of holy sites. Slogans against the United States and Israel were also raised, with some Muslim rulers being accused of dependence on these powers.
