CNN released satellite imagery and interviews with American and Arab officials, revealing extensive damage to US military infrastructure in the Middle East.
The report, produced by Tamara Qiblawi, CNN’s senior correspondent in the region, shows that at least 16 US military bases and facilities in eight countries – including Jordan, the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, and Iraq – have been targeted by precise and widespread Iranian strikes.
Citing informed sources, CNN stated that the attacks primarily targeted advanced radar systems, communications equipment, and aircraft – the most expensive and critical assets of the US military in the region. One source told CNN: “We have never seen anything like this at US bases before; these strikes were swift and precise, employing advanced technology.”
The report emphasizes that some of these bases have become practically “unusable” and that the damage covers most US military positions in the Middle East.
This report comes as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed, and gasoline and essential commodity prices have soared dramatically in the US and around the globe.
