How Iran’s Mass Mobilization Shattered US Hegemony

In an interview with the Deputy for International Affairs of Iran's Islamic Seminaries, the massive public mobilization in Iran is examined as a catalyst for a new global order.

Hojatoleslam Sayyed Mofid Hosseini Kouhsari describes the recent “Imposed War of Ramadan” as a historic turning point, stating that the gap between the pre-war world and today is not merely two months of time, but a historic curve where power equations, nations’ perspectives, and Iran’s international standing have undergone a serious metamorphosis.

Speaking at a media pavilion in Qom, Hojatoleslam Seyyed Mofid Hosseini Kouhsari stressed that current global events signal a fresh phase in the world order, one where the role of Iran, the Resistance Front, and Islamic Awakening has become more prominent than ever.

A Historic Curve in Global Equations

Pointing to recent developments, the seminaries’ deputy for international affairs said comparing the pre-war world to today reveals two completely different atmospheres. “Transformations are occurring at an astonishing speed, and these changes are not limited to one region but have impacted global equations,” he noted.

He stated that not only has the position of the United States and the Zionist regime shifted, but the Resistance Front and Islamic countries have also entered a new phase of power and influence. “One of the most significant regional shifts is the ongoing process of America’s expulsion from the region,” Kouhsari added, emphasizing that this is a field reality, not a mental analysis, evidenced by repeated heavy strikes on US military bases by Resistance forces, causing damage that could take years to repair.

Weakening of US Allies, Strengthening of the Resistance

The official pointed to the changing power alignment in the region, asserting that the US is gradually losing its allies while the Resistance Front solidifies its position as an enlightened and victorious bloc. He noted that the discourse of Resistance is transcending regional boundaries to become a global current, citing waves of awakening across various Islamic countries, with Iran witnessing a social “Mab’ath” similar to trends seen in Iraq, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh.

Shifting Muslim Perceptions of Iran

Hojatoleslam Kouhsari highlighted a significant shift in the Muslim world’s public opinion toward Iran. Previously receiving filtered news through Iranophobia projects, Iran is now seen by many nations as a symbol of Islamic dignity and zeal—a country that defends its territorial integrity, backs the oppressed people of Gaza, and stands firm against superpowers. This solidarity with regional nations like Iraq and Lebanon has established Iran as an icon of resistance against the hegemonic system.

Global Echoes of Iran’s Street Presence

The deputy underscored the crucial link between the battlefield of resistance and popular presence, noting that the world now witnesses the massive popular backing for Iran’s Islamic Revolution and establishment. “Today, Iran’s name is raised against superpowers across social media and television networks globally,” he said, adding that even in some European countries, criticism of US policies and its global role has intensified.

The Credibility Crisis of Western Civilization

Kouhsari addressed the declining credibility of Western civilization, stating that what is unfolding exposes not just a politician like Trump, but the true face of the hegemonic system and Western civilization itself. He cited scandals like the Epstein case and the poor performance of international bodies on human rights, showing the vast gap between Western slogans of freedom and reality. “In the past, Western-leaning currents were thirsty to move toward Western culture, but today, few speak of the West as a human ideal,” he remarked.

Iran’s Scientific Progress Within an Islamic Framework

While acknowledging undeniable Western scientific advances, Hojatoleslam Kouhsari argued they often came through resource exploitation. In contrast, the Islamic Republic of Iran demonstrates that scientific and technological progress can be achieved within the framework of Islamic civilization without harming other nations. By distancing itself from Western civilizational harms, refusing to plunder resources, and rejecting global corruption, Iran is increasingly recognized as an honorable nation adhering to human values.

Global Popularity of Resistance Icons

He pointed out the unique phenomenon of military figures gaining mass popularity, with commanders like martyr Qassem Soleimani, martyr Babaei, and martyr Zainuddin becoming household names in many countries, inspiring families to name their children after them.

Regional Public Backing for Iran’s Defense

Referring to conditions in some Persian Gulf states where government military cooperation with the US has created quasi-conflict situations, Kouhsari noted that a significant portion of public opinion in those very countries views Iran’s defense as legitimate and lawful. He observed a growing convergence with the Resistance discourse even in neighboring states that previously held political or sectarian differences with Iran.

Iran: The Primary Foe of Zionism

The deputy stated that globally, the Islamic Republic is now recognized as the foremost enemy of the Zionist regime and a leading opponent of US hegemonic policies. This sincere steadfastness against the dominance system has increased global inclination toward Islam, the school of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), and the Resistance Front.

Iran’s Role in Reviving Global Spirituality

Reflecting on the Islamic Revolution’s role in reviving religion globally, Kouhsari recalled a Christian figure’s early remark that Imam Khomeini resurrected Islam’s name in the world. He asserted that Iran’s popular presence in social and political arenas can steer history toward ethics, justice, and spirituality, with the ultimate goal being a society free from poverty, corruption, and injustice—the very ideals for which divine prophets strived.

In closing, the seminaries’ deputy for international affairs emphasized that the Iranian nation today is playing a role in history far beyond an ordinary nation. “Just as prophets were sent to guide humanity, the Iranian nation has been tasked with calling other nations toward awakening, justice, and spirituality,” he concluded.
