In an interview with the Seminary News Agency (Hawzah News), Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Seyyed Mofid Hosseini-Kohsari, referring to the transformative programs of the Deputy Office for International Affairs of the Seminaries for the new academic year, stated: “In the international domain, we have designed transformative plans for the new year, which, God willing, will gradually and step by step enter their implementation phases.”
Preparing an International Component for All Seminary Activities
He identified one of the transformative plans as the preparation of an international component for all activities of the seminaries, deputy offices, specialized centers, and provinces, adding: “Today, numerous programs are being implemented in the seminaries — from festivals to research, scientific, and educational programs — and these programs can all have an international dimension.”
The Deputy for International Affairs of the Seminaries continued: “The internationalization of all activities and pillars of the seminaries, including educational and research activities in schools, specialized centers, and provinces, is among the transformative plans being pursued.”
Diversifying Propagation in the International Arena
Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Hosseini-Kohsari cited the diversification of propagation in the international arena as another transformative axis, saying: “Utilizing new capacities for virtual propagation in the international arena has been placed on the agenda.”
Referring to developments in the field of communications and the capacities of cyberspace, he added: “Efforts are being made to diversify the methods of international propagation and utilize the capacity of international virtual propagation to pave the way for more effective communication with audiences in different countries.”
Extensive Use of New Technologies and Artificial Intelligence
The Deputy for International Affairs of the Seminaries also considered the extensive use of new technologies and artificial intelligence as another axis of the transformative plans, stating: “The use of new technologies and artificial intelligence in international interactions, the production of scientific and research works, and the translation and dissemination of scientific, cultural, and religious content of the seminaries has been placed on the agenda.”
He added: “The extensive use of artificial intelligence in educational, research, and propagation fields can provide new capacities for the international activities of the seminaries.”
Developing Interactions Between the Qom and Najaf Seminaries
Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Hosseini-Kohsari described the development of interactions between the Qom and Najaf seminaries as another transformative axis, saying: “The development of scientific and cultural exchanges with Shia and Sunni seminaries in the international arena is also being pursued.”
The Deputy for International Affairs of the Seminaries continued: “Expanding scientific and inter-denominational relations with reputable scientific and denominational assemblies is also on the agenda and is being pursued as one of the transformative plans.”
Establishing an International Think Tank to Monitor Developments
He also announced plans to establish an international think tank, stating: “Another transformative axis is the establishment of an international think tank for monitoring, analyzing, and conducting strategic studies in the international arena.”
The Deputy for International Affairs of the Seminaries emphasized: “Monitoring changes and developments in the international arena and conducting strategic studies in this regard are among the programs that will be pursued within the framework of transformative plans.”
