As the Islamic Republic navigates one of the most critical junctures in its post-revolution history, a senior source of emulation has issued a stark warning to political factions and the public: any rhetoric or action that weakens the domestic front is tantamount to handing a victory to the enemy.
Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani, in a statement released on Saturday, identified the United States, the Zionist regime, and their regional proxies as the primary aggressors seeking to strike at the heart of Iran.
“These days we are living through are among the most important and sensitive periods of the Islamic Republic,” the cleric stated. “The enemies of this nation and country—headed by America, the Zionist regime, and their regional lackeys—are trying with all their might to strike at Islamic Iran. They spare no conspiracy or hostility.”
‘Unity around the Leader’
The Ayatollah emphasized that the only force capable of neutralizing the enemy’s complex plots is the internal cohesion of the nation. He called for absolute vigilance and trust in the country’s military forces, executive bodies, and diplomatic apparatus.
“What can thwart the enemy’s plans in such circumstances is the preservation of unity, cohesion around the axis of leadership, and trusting the sons of the nation in the fields of defense, administration, and diplomacy,” the message read.
Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani also reassured the public that Iran’s armed forces and officials are working side-by-side, fully aware of the sensitive conditions, to safeguard national interests.
Red lines: No attacks on negotiators
In a specific and noteworthy section of his message, the Grand Ayatollah addressed the often-fractious political environment within the country. He demanded that all sympathizers of the Islamic system refrain from any statement or action that might undermine the “internal front.”
“From all well-wishers of the country, it is expected that they refrain from any word or act that weakens the internal front or—God forbid—destroys the reputation of the negotiators,” he asserted.
He specifically praised the head of the negotiating team, referring to Dr. Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stating that he and his colleagues are fully aware of the “treachery, bad faith, and track record” of the opposing side, and are taking the nation’s concerns into account.
The people’s role
The cleric concluded by highlighting the critical role of the Iranian people in frustrating foreign agendas. He described an “aware and insightful presence” of the masses as a necessary force that will continue until the “sedition” is completely neutralized.
“With adherence to the guidelines of Imam Khomeini, the martyred Leader, and the current Leader of the Revolution—based on preserving unity, solidarity, and avoiding any discord—we will pass through this sensitive stage with honor and pride, and the enemies of this nation will remain hopeless and defeated.”
