In a strongly worded statement, Top Iraqi cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani has condemned Israeli aggression on the Iranian soil, slamming US president’s recent threats against Iran’s Supreme Leader Grand Ayatollah Khamenei.
Grand Ayatollah Sistani declared:

The supreme Shia authority in Najaf once again condemns the military aggression on the Iranian soil and the Islamic Republic, and it slams any threats against the religious and political position of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Grand Ayatollah Sistani warns that any hostile act against the supreme leader not only is a blatant violation of international law and religious values, but also brings about dire consequences for the entire region.
It can severely escalate the situation in the region, creating chaos which leads to intensified suffering of the nations in the Middle East, causing catastrophic blows to West Asian countries.
Therefore, we solemnly urge all international bodies and governments including the Islamic countries to try with the best of their ability to put and end to this aggression and to look for a peaceful and just solution to address Iran’s nuclear program based on international law.
