Seminary Bodies Warn: Any Threat to the Supreme Leader Is a Declaration of War Against the Islamic Nation

The statement, issued in response to what it called “the brazen and shameful remarks of the American President,” drew historical parallels with the failed plots against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stressing that divine will protects true leaders from the schemes of oppressors.

In a powerful joint statement, the Seminary Teachers’ Society of the Qom, the Supreme Council of Seminaries, and the Center for the Management of Seminaries condemned recent threats made by the U.S. President against the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. The statement described such threats as a declaration of war against the entire Islamic Ummah and warned of dire consequences for those responsible.

The statement, issued in response to what it called “the brazen and shameful remarks of the American President,” drew historical parallels with the failed plots against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stressing that divine will protects true leaders from the schemes of oppressors.

“The malicious words of the American President targeting the life of the Supreme Leader once again reveal the depths of arrogance and ignorance. Just as the Quraysh conspired against the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during the migration, today’s enemies too will face divine defeat and disgrace,” the statement read.

The seminaries emphasized that the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, is not merely a political figure but a religious and spiritual guide whose leadership transcends national boundaries and unites the Islamic world in pursuit of truth, justice, and resistance against oppression.

“His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei is a divine leader and the bearer of the standard of Islamic unity and civilization. Threats against him are not only futile but expose the weakness and desperation of those issuing them,” the statement declared.

Calling the U.S. President’s comments an affront to the dignity of Islamic authority, the statement asserted that any aggression—whether verbal or physical—against the Supreme Leader would ignite a far-reaching and uncontrollable response from the Islamic world.

“Any threat or attack on the status and dignity of the Supreme Leader constitutes a declaration of war on the Islamic nation and a betrayal of all that is sacred. Such acts will ignite a fire whose flames will consume all oppressors.”

The joint message concluded with a stern warning:

“Those who commit injustice will soon learn which revolutionaries will rise to overthrow them.”

This united front from the highest scholarly bodies in the Shiite seminary underscores the profound religious and political implications of recent international provocations and signals unwavering support for the Supreme Leader from within Iran’s religious institutions.
