According to “The Official Website of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria”, a group visited the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria at his residence. Sheikh Zakzaky addressed the gathering and started by expressing his heartfelt congratulations to the followers of Ahlulbayt (AS) on the commemoration of Imam Ridha (alaihis salam), who was born in Zhul Qa’adah.
He says, “Your seminar time coincides with the time of birth commemoration Imam Ridha (AS)- an event which is commemorated for days in the past”.
Sheikh Zakzaky emphasizes the important role of poetry and poets in the history of Islam, where he said, “historically, lines of poetry are one of the weapons for spreading the message of Islam”.
Speaking on using instruments by poets, he says, “As long as it is not for fun or play, which contradicts the provision of Islamic rules, there is no harm in using it as a tool for propagation”.
He added, “There is no harm in using instruments in a permissible situation”.
The Shu’urah Forum conducted a 3-day seminar in Abuja discussing different aspects of poetry and its importance in spreading Da’awah.
