Qom Seminary Teachers’ Society Applauds Bold Fatwa Defending Islamic Leadership, Condemns Threats by U.S. President

The General Assembly of the Seminary Teachers’ Society of Qom has issued a strong statement in support of the recent fatwas issued by the leading religious authorities of Qom and Najaf, denouncing threats made against the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Imam Sayyid Ali Khamenei.

In the statement, the society praised what it described as a “sensitive, historic, and courageous” religious ruling by prominent scholars condemning those responsible for threatening the leadership and religious authority of the Islamic world.

“This bold fatwa reflects the depth of responsibility held by the maraji’ (religious authorities) in confronting the growing hostility of global arrogance toward Islam and its revered figures,” the statement declared.

The society strongly condemned the threats reportedly made by the U.S. President against Imam Khamenei, calling it an attack not only on a respected Islamic leader but on the dignity, unity, and faith of the entire Muslim Ummah.

“At a time when the Muslim people—especially in Gaza—are enduring relentless bloodshed and aggression, the enemies of Islam have now more shamelessly than ever extended their hostility to the heart of Islam, targeting its living symbols,” the statement read.

The association expressed particular outrage over what it called a “clear insult to Islam and its sacred values,” and affirmed its complete and unwavering support for the position of the maraji’ in Qom and Najaf. The fatwas, the statement said, correctly identify those responsible for such threats as “enemies of Islam and humanity.”

Calling on Muslims and free nations around the world, the assembly urged unity in the face of increasing aggression:

“We invite all courageous and freedom-seeking people, especially Muslims, to rise up in defense of truth, justice, and the dignity of the Islamic Ummah. The continued crimes of the Zionist regime and its main supporter, the United States, must be confronted through a unified stand rooted in faith, awareness, and resistance.”

The statement concluded with a call to global action to oppose what it described as “racist, criminal, and child-killing regimes” and reaffirmed that the path of jihad, as a struggle against injustice and tyranny, remains the gateway to divine victory.
