In an interview with Hawza News correspondent in Najaf, Iraq, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini, a member of the Assembly of Experts and the representative of the Supreme Leader in Iraq, explained the international position of Qom Seminary and the extensive influence of Al-Mustafa International University in the global arena.
He stated,” What we are witnessing in the world today is the result of the growth and expansion of a good tree that has become more fruitful since the establishment of the Qom Seminary and, despite all the difficulties, has become an international movement after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.”
Ayatollah Hosseini added,” Schools have been established in many countries of the world that are derived from the Qom Seminary. This influence is evident even in remote areas and among various ethnic groups. The message of Late Imam Khomeini, the thought of the Imam, and the line of the Imam have been transmitted to the world through the seminaries and representatives of the Supreme Leader, and following the leadership of the jurist, they have spread in many Islamic societies.”
The member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts continued to say that Al-Mustafa International University is among the important manifestations of this movement. This institution was from the beginning one of the branches of the Qom Seminary, which was formed considering the large presence of non-Iranian students. The enemies also sought to influence and abuse this capacity, but with prudence, the structure of international scientific and cultural activities was organized.
The representative of the Supreme Leader in Iraq further noted,” Today, Al-Mustafa International University has branches in many countries and is currently active in more than half of the countries of the world. From the heart of this institution, Friday and congregational imams, prominent professors, and great scholars have been trained who have a profound impact on their societies.”
Pointing out the quantitative and qualitative scope of the activities of Al-Mustafa University, he said,” The courses offered at this institution are appropriate for different academic levels and, with a deep and broad approach, convey the message of the seminary to all corners of the world.”
