The rally will take place on Wednesday, July 2, in front of the Supreme Leader’s office in the holy City of Qom. Organized amid heightened tensions following hostile rhetoric by U.S. president, the demonstration is expected to draw a large crowd in a public display of religious loyalty and national unity.
According to the rally’s official announcement, the event is being held in direct response to what it calls a grave affront to the sanctity of wilayah (guardianship) and the status of the Shiite Marja’iyyah (religious authority).
“Following the insolence of the accursed U.S. president toward the sacred position of Islamic leadership, the revered Shiite authorities of the Islamic world have declared that such threats constitute an act of war against Islam itself,” the statement reads.
It goes on to frame the moment as a defining test for the Muslim community:
“This is a great test. God does not change the condition of a people unless they change themselves. Today, it is obligatory for every Muslim man and woman to rise and defend the religious authority with full devotion—even, if necessary, in shrouds.”
The statement draws powerful historical parallels with the tragedy of Karbala, warning that the mistake of the people of Kufa—who abandoned Muslim ibn Aqeel, the envoy of Imam Hussain—must never be repeated.
“The Muslim Ummah will not allow harm to befall the deputy of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance). We stand ready to defend the guardianship with our lives, and to prove our loyalty to the cause of the Infallible Imams.”
