Amid ongoing turmoil in the Holy Land, Pope Francis has renewed his appeal for dialogue and a ceasefire in Gaza, the Holy See Press Office announced. In his latest statement, the pontiff emphasized the urgent need to halt the violence and to pursue peaceful solutions through negotiations, calling on all parties to respect human dignity and the sanctity of life.
According to the Holy See Press Office, the Holy Father reiterated his urgent call for a ceasefire and renewed appeals for meaningful negotiations. He also stressed the imperative to protect places of worship and ensure the safety of all people.
The renewed plea comes after the Holy Family Catholic Church — the only Catholic church in Gaza — was struck by an Israeli airstrike on Thursday morning. The attack left three people dead and injured ten others, including the parish priest, Father Gabriel Romanelli.
