At a press conference held in Islamabad, Senator Jafari described Trump’s remarks as “an outrageous insult to religious authority and the sanctity of the Muslim Ummah.”
“Such threats are not just hostile toward the Islamic Republic of Iran,” he warned, “but are directed at the entire Islamic nation.”
“An Attack on the Pope of Islam”
Drawing a powerful analogy, Jafari compared the threat to an attack on one of the holiest religious figures in the Christian world:
“Trump’s threat to assassinate our religious leader is equivalent to someone announcing an intent to kill the Pope. This is the height of arrogance, ignorance, and provocation.”
Ayatollah Khamenei: A Religious and Political Guide for All Muslims
Senator Jafari emphasized the revered position of Ayatollah Khamenei among Muslims worldwide:
“For us, Ayatollah Khamenei is not just a scholar or a leader in Iran — he is our religious guide and political authority. In Islam, religion and politics are not separate.”
He stressed that any aggression toward the Supreme Leader would have broader consequences far beyond Iran.
Warning to Arrogant Powers
Jafari issued a clear warning to the U.S., Israel, and other powers who may be involved in such provocations:
“Trump, Netanyahu, and their allies should know that any threat to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution will be met with a united response from the Muslim world.”
Pakistan Will Not Remain Silent
The senator concluded with a stern message on behalf of the people of Pakistan:
“We will not remain silent. If any harm comes to Ayatollah Khamenei, the presence of Americans on Pakistani soil will become intolerable — and they will face a decisive, uncompromising response.”
