Speaking to a large gathering of mourners in Rawalpindi, Wahedi emphasized that mourning for Imam Hussein (AS) is far more than a ritual—it is a living, dynamic movement that keeps the message of justice alive in every era.
“O followers of Sayyid al-Shuhada! Your passionate and unwavering presence in these mourning gatherings is a living expression of Hussaini zeal and a cry of protest against oppression,” he said. “This mourning tradition has always stood against tyranny, championing the cause of the oppressed.”
Addressing scholars, orators, preachers, lamentation organizers, and participants across Pakistan, Wahedi noted that Hussaini mourning is not confined to cultural expression but serves as a global school of resistance, promoting dignity, freedom, and awakening among oppressed nations.
“These ceremonies have never been a threat to any nation or society. On the contrary, they are a source of inspiration—reviving honor, resistance, and the pursuit of justice in the hearts of the downtrodden,” he added.
Highlighting the widespread influence of Ashura commemorations, Wahedi pointed to the fear among global arrogant powers—especially those aligned with modern-day Yazidism.
“The enemies of Islam fear the light of mourning because it ignites awareness in the hearts of youth and strengthens the spirit of resistance. That is why they attempt to suppress these gatherings and silence this voice,” he asserted.
He further stressed that mourning for Imam Hussein (AS) is a divinely inspired tradition, deeply rooted in the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), who said: “Hussain is from me, and I am from Hussain” and “Hussain is the lamp of guidance and the ship of salvation.”
“This mourning is not just about remembering a historical tragedy; it is the continuation of the Prophet’s mission, the practical interpretation of Islamic teachings, and a roadmap for confronting injustice in every generation,” Wahedi explained.
In conclusion, Wahedi described the Ashura movement as a spiritual artery of the Islamic Ummah, one that has disgraced the sinister triangle of global arrogance led by the United States and restored dignity, awareness, and resistance to oppressed nations around the world.
“This is not merely a ceremony—it is a living revolution that began in Karbala and continues to carry the banner of truth and resistance today,” he declared.
