Najaf Seminary Students Condemn Trump’s Threats Against Iran’s Supreme Leader

In their collective declaration, the students warned that any attack on the revered institution of Marja’iyyah constitutes a declaration of war on the entire Islamic world and a betrayal of the moral foundations of the monotheistic civilization.

A group of students from the Najaf Seminary has issued a statement condemning what they describe as “brazen and shameless threats” by U.S. President Donald Trump against the religious authority of Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In their collective declaration, the students warned that any attack on the revered institution of Marja’iyyah constitutes a declaration of war on the entire Islamic world and a betrayal of the moral foundations of the monotheistic civilization.

“The Shiite Marja’iyyah is not a political role, but a sacred and spiritual authority that embodies the unity, guidance, and conscious awakening of the Islamic Ummah across Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain, Pakistan, and beyond,” the statement reads.

Quoting the Qur’anic verse — “And Allah will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might” (Surah Hajj: 40) — the students denounced Trump’s threats as “a mad and unprecedented act” that exposes what they call the “political folly and moral degeneration of the American leadership.”

The statement described such rhetoric as a reflection of the “arrogant and aggressive nature of the U.S. regime,” which, according to the seminary students, continues to disrespect international norms, human dignity, and Islamic sanctities.

“Our lives are devoted to the defense of Marja’iyyah, and we stand by our leader until the last drop of our blood,” they declared.

The group issued a stern warning to both the U.S. administration and its regional allies, stating that any aggression toward religious authority would spark “a fire that cannot be extinguished.”

The statement concluded with a call to action, urging Islamic governments, scholars, religious communities, human rights organizations, and freedom-seeking individuals worldwide to reject Washington’s provocations and unite against what they termed the hegemony of the U.S. and the Zionist regime.

“We pray to Almighty God to safeguard His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei for the Islamic Ummah and to humiliate and destroy the enemies of faith and humanity in this world and the hereafter.”
