Speaking during the official inauguration of the newly developed Islamic Library at King Salman Mosque, Dr Shaheem highlighted that the initiative to establish libraries within mosques and to revitalise mosque spaces is a key component of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s broader vision for the Islamic community in the Maldives.
As part of this vision, the government is looking to establish libraries in every Islamic Centre in the Maldives by the end of the year, the Minister revealed.
During the event, Minister Dr Shaheem called upon Islamic scholars and Maldivian authors to contribute their valuable publications to the library.
Establishing Islamic libraries across the country’s mosques and Islamic centres remains a key pledge of President Dr Muizzu’s administration.
