Libyan Mufti: Iran-Israel Conflict a ‘Battle Between Islam and Infidelity’

Libya's Grand Mufti, Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani, has described the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel as a war between Islam and infidelity, according to a recent video statement.

In a video message reported by Al Jazeera, Sheikh Sadiq al-Ghariani, Libya’s Grand Mufti, said that the conflict between Iran and the Zionist regime is, from a Sharia perspective, a battle between Islam and infidelity.

“The Zionist regime has invaded and attacked an Islamic country out of oppression and hostility,” al-Ghariani stated. He added, “This regime, with the overt support of Western countries, kills, assassinates, and intimidates whoever it wishes.”

The Mufti further emphasized that Western nations, alongside the Zionist regime, have conspired against Iran, a Muslim country. “This war is a battle between the infidels and the Muslims,” he said. “In such a scenario, the sovereignty and independence of Islamic countries are being trampled upon.”

The statement comes as the Israeli regime initiated aggression against Iran last Friday, targeting military and residential areas. Iran, in response, launched Operation True Promise III, targeting key Israeli military sites across the occupied territories.
