Karbala Hosts Fourth International Al-Aqsa Conference in Solidarity with Palestine

The holy city of Karbala is currently hosting the Fourth International Al-Aqsa Conference in Support of Palestine, bringing together influential religious, political, and media figures from over 70 countries to address the ongoing war and aggression by the Zionist regime.

The four-day conference began on Friday and runs through Monday, with hundreds of Palestinian leaders and international delegates in attendance. The gathering focuses on global solidarity with the Palestinian people and the defense of their rights in the face of continued violence and occupation.

On the second day of the conference, a series of sessions were conducted by three specialized committees, covering themes related to religion, social justice, and media. These discussions aimed to strengthen international collaboration in resisting oppression and promoting the Palestinian cause.

First launched in September 2022, the Al-Aqsa Conference has since become an annual event held in Karbala in the days leading up to Arbaeen. Each year, it is hosted at the sacred shrine of Imam Hussein (AS), symbolizing the spirit of resistance, justice, and the defense of the oppressed.

Organizers say the location of the conference — the shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) — was chosen to reinforce the values of his historic uprising and to link the message of Karbala with the broader struggle for justice in Palestine.
