Karachi, Pakistan — On the Day of Ashura, the city of Karachi witnessed a powerful and deeply spiritual mourning procession in honor of Imam Hussain (AS). Amid the solemn ceremonies, Hussaini mourners reaffirmed their allegiance to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, emphasizing their commitment to the ideals of resistance and justice embodied in the Ashura movement.
The day’s events included a large congregational Ashura prayer, held at noon and led by Hojjat-ul-Islam Syed Shahanshah Hussain Naqvi, drawing a significant number of mourners. The ceremony underscored both the spiritual and socio-political dimensions of Ashura.
In his opening remarks, the head of the Imamia Students Organization of Pakistan described the uprising of Imam Hussain (AS) as a timeless beacon for humanity, inspiring the free nations of the world. “Karbala is a school of resistance against oppression,” he stated, “and today, that same spirit fuels the opposition to the Yazids of our time.”
He also highlighted the central role of Ayatollah Khamenei as a unifying and awakening force for the Muslim Ummah, stressing that Palestine remains the foremost issue of the Islamic world. “Supporting the oppressed people of Palestine is not just a political stance—it is a religious, moral, and humanitarian obligation,” he said, condemning the silence of some Islamic countries in the face of Zionist crimes.
Following the prayers, mourners raised chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” symbolically burned the flags of the two regimes, and voiced their outrage over policies of oppression and arrogance.
The ceremony concluded with a renewed oath of loyalty to Ayatollah Khamenei and a collective pledge to continue the path of resistance against global arrogance. The atmosphere throughout the event was marked by deep Husseini devotion, discipline, and fervor.
