In a meeting with a group of Sunni scholars from Bangladesh, the chancellor of Al-Mustafa International University Hujjat al-Islam Ali Abbasi stated,” The Islamic Revolution seeks unity among followers of Islamic sects because it believes that if Muslims wish to regain their dignity and glory, they must be united together. One of the signs of this strategy is the establishment of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, which was established by the Islamic Republic of Iran to help bring about proximity and brotherhood among Muslims.”
Pointing out the annual Islamic Unity Conference held by the Islamic Republic of Iran, he noted,” This international conference is held with the participation of all influential figures from different Islamic sects to discuss together and to come to a consensus and determine a position on the issues of the Islamic world.”
The chancellor of Al-Mustafa University continued to introduce this international scientific institution, saying,” Al-Mustafa University, as an international Islamic university, where more than 97 percent of its students are non-Iranian students from 135 nationalities, has opened its doors to followers of different Islamic sects based on this approximate strategy to study religious sciences based on the teachings of their sects and a contemporary perspective.”
Emphasizing the comprehensive support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the oppressed people of Palestine and other Muslim nations, he stated,” While the majority of the Palestinian population is Sunni, it can be said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is the only state that is a flag-bearer in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people among Islamic countries. The Islamic Revolution believes that the glory of Muslims depends on the unity and cooperation of Muslim sects and nations, which can together revive Islamic dignity.”
The member of the Assembly of Experts further added,” Of course, the Islamic system has endured many costs, including political pressure, sanctions, and other issues, to pursue this mission, but unfortunately, many Islamic governments have political and economic relations with the usurper Zionist regime and are not even willing to cut off these ties for one day and not be the lifeblood of this fake regime. On the other hand, these same governments, in their religious centers, constantly sow division and excommunication in the Islamic world.”
