Iranian Ambassador to Vatican denounces Threats to Supreme Leader

Hujjat al-Islam Muhammad Hussein Mokhtari has strongly condemned Israeli aggression on Iran, denouncing U.S. President’s recent threats against the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei as a blatant violation of international law.

In an interview, the Iranian Ambassador to Vatican denounced the Israeli aggression on Iran, adding,” Such acts by the Zionist regime are a clear violation of the United Nations charter and an aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran has the right to legitimately respond to such aggression according to Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. Iranian armed forces are defending our homeland against the usurper regime with total vigilance and dignity.

The Iranian ambassador further noted, “We ask the officials of Vatican to condemn Israeli aggression according to religious teachings and to denounce such inhumane attacks. All religious leaders must take decisive action to stop this dangerous aggression which has threatened the international peace and security. “

“It is abundantly clear that the inhumane Israeli aggression against Iran is being supported by the U.S. President Donald Trump, therefore, the American regime as the supporter of terrorism must be held accountable for the grave consequences of such atrocities carried out by the Zionist regime.

Mokhtari went on to say that Donald Trump blatantly threatened to kill the Supreme Leader of the Islamic revolution Imam Khamenei in a post on X Social Network. This is an unprecedented act of violation of international law especially the United Nations charter. “According to Article 4 of this charter, any verbal aggression or hostility against the political sovereignty of member countries is forbidden.” He added.

“The principle of diplomatic immunity of high-ranking officials dictates that such acts are illegal. A principle which is based on international protocols and guarantees the security of politicians during their term of service. Such conduct is strongly condemned by the international law and principles.” He concluded.
