Hundreds Rally in Baghdad to Show Solidarity with Iran

Members of Iraq’s Sayyid al-Shuhada and al-Nujaba brigades gathered near the iconic Suspended Bridge, chanting anti-Israel slogans and expressing support for Iran’s right to defend itself.

Baghdad — June 16, 2025 -Hundreds of Iraqis took to the streets of central Baghdad on Monday evening in a show of solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran, following Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iranian territory.

According to an Al-Sumaria, members of Iraq’s Sayyid al-Shuhada and al-Nujaba brigades gathered near the iconic Suspended Bridge, chanting anti-Israel slogans and expressing support for Iran’s right to defend itself.

The demonstration comes in the wake of an Israeli air assault in the early hours of Friday, June 13, targeting multiple sites across Iran, including residential neighborhoods, industrial facilities, and the Natanz nuclear complex. In response, Iran launched a counteroffensive involving waves of drones and ballistic missiles aimed at Israeli targets.

The protests reflect growing regional tension and heightened solidarity among members of the so-called Axis of Resistance, amid fears of a wider escalation.
