the demise anniversary of the Late Imam Khomeini (RA) was held at his residence in Najaf, Iraq with the participation of a group of scholars, and supporters of the Islamic Revolution. Ayatollah Hosseini, the representative of the Supreme Leader and the keynote speaker of the ceremony, honored the memory of the late Imam Khomeini and explained the achievements of the Islamic Revolution.
Pointing out that Islam before the revolution was a religion limited to individual affairs, he said,” The Islamic Revolution revived Islam and presented it as a comprehensive and complete system for governing society.”
Ayatollah Hosseini further noted that Imam Khomeini (RA) restored the spirit of honor and dignity among the Islamic society. “Muslims felt inferior prior to the revolution, but the Imam, by honoring them, made them proud of being Muslims.” He added.
A member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts stated that the Islamic Ummah was recognized thanks to the efforts of the late Imam Khomeini, adding,” Imam Khomeini (RA) set aside ethnic and national tendencies, and every Muslim anywhere in the world considered himself a member of the Islamic Ummah.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader in Iraq considered the fall of the Pahlavi regime and the establishment of the Islamic system among other achievements of the Islamic Revolution, saying,” the Late Imam Khomeini (RA) brought the book of Jihad from the margins to the center by creating a fundamental change in governance.”
He listed the export of the revolution as another advantage of the late Imam’s movement and stated,” Thanks to the spread of the revolution, the Islamic Revolution is recognized all over the world.”
Pointing out that the Shiites were known as an introverted group before the revolution, Ayatollah Hosseini said,” Imam Khomeini (RA) introduced Shiites and Shiite jurisprudence to the world.”
The member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts considered the ascetic and simple life for the officials to be one of the important characteristics of the Imam (RA) and added, “With this characteristic, Imam Khomeini broke the idol of arrogance of the officials.”
The representative of the Supreme Leader in Iraq listed giving a sense of personality and identity to Iran and Iranians and creating independence as other important achievements of Imam Khomeini (RA).
At the end of his speech, Ayatollah Hosseini asked God Almighty to bring the hearts of the people closer together and to turn the conspiracies of the enemies of this nation back to themselves.
