On the sidelines of the international conference marking the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Qom Seminary, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, appreciating the charter of the Supreme Leader, said,” We are extremely grateful to the Supreme Leader for issuing the charter of the seminaries, as well as the great religious scholars who enriched this conference with their presence and enlightening messages.”
The Head of Iran’s Seminaries stated,” The strategic message of the Supreme Leader, as the most important document after the charter of the Late Imam Khomeini (RA), has opened new horizons before the seminaries.”
Ayatollah Arafi pointed out the historical periods of seminaries, saying,” The Qom seminary can be divided into two general periods, before and after the 14th century AH. For each of these periods, six historical stages can be identified, which will be explained in detail.”
He further noted that currently, at the beginning of the 15th century AH, the seventh stage of the life of seminaries has begun, which is considered a new chapter in the history of this ancient institution.
The Head of Iran’s seminaries referred to the main axes of the Supreme Leader’s message and added,” The Supreme Leader outlined five basic principles for seminaries in his historical message, the final principle of which is the civilizational mission of the seminaries and looking at the high civilizational horizons. This valuable message will be our guide on the path of transformation and progress of the seminaries.”
Ayatollah Arafi announced practical measures to implement the Supreme Leader’s charter and said,” The Supreme Leader has begun analyzing and reviewing the charter of the seminaries, and a council will soon be formed to follow it up. The strategic points of this document are categorized in a specific timeline.”
He emphasized that by the end of the first five-year plan, we are currently compiling the second plan for seminaries, which will include all the guidelines of the Supreme Leader.
The Head of Iran’s seminaries pointed to future plans and said,” The key transformation plans of the seminaries will be reviewed and implemented based on these principles. Today, in dozens of seminary scientific centers inside and outside Iran, thousands of people heard this message and a new spirit was breathed into the bodies of the seminaries.”
In final part of his speech, Ayatollah Arafi added,” We ask God Almighty for help on this path and hope that with the blessings of the infallible Imams (PBUT) and the efforts of the students and professors, we will witness the realization of these lofty goals. I would like to thank all the great authorities, elders, professors and media, especially those related to the Supreme Leader.”
