On the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir Sadr (RA), a grand seminar was held at the National Council of Arts Hall in Islamabad, Pakistan, by Department of Publishing the Works of Martyr Sadr.
At this ceremony, Hujjat al-Islam Arif Hussain Wahedi, Vice Chairman of the Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan, explained the various dimensions of the scientific, jurisprudential and militant personality of Martyr Sadr in a speech.
Pointing out the high scientific status of this wise scholar, he referred to Martyr Sadr as a “shining star in the field of jurisprudence and ijtihad” and noted,” Martyr Sadr was not only a distinguished figure in the field of thought and knowledge, but also a pioneer of resistance in the field of struggle against oppression, tyranny and arrogance.”
The Vice Chairman of Shia Ulema Council of Pakistan also highlighted the influential role of religious authority in the Islamic world and appreciated the unifying efforts of Hujjat al-Islam Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi in bringing religions closer and strengthening the unity of the Islamic nation.
The ceremony was attended by a group of scholars, thinkers and enthusiasts of Martyr Sadr’s school of thought, and the memory of this prominent religious figure was honored.
