Baghdad, Iraq, in his Friday prayer sermon in Baghdad, Ayatollah Seyyed Yassin Mousavi, a prominent scholar of the Najaf Seminary and the city’s Friday prayer leader, warned that recent regional escalations are part of a premeditated strategy by the United States and the Zionist regime aimed at undermining the Shiite community and dismantling the Axis of Resistance.
Addressing worshippers, Ayatollah Mousavi stressed that the intensifying conflicts in Gaza, southern Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, and Iran are not merely reactions to the events of October 7, but rather components of a larger geopolitical plan designed well in advance. “This project was only awaiting the right moment to be implemented,” he noted.
He characterized the Palestinian resistance’s action on October 7 as a “defensive response” to sustained political and military pressure, and stated that the true goal behind the ongoing escalation is to weaken the Resistance Front and shift the balance of power in the region in favor of the U.S. and Israel.
Referring to the recent Zionist attacks on Iranian territory that resulted in the martyrdom of high-ranking Iranian military commanders, Ayatollah Mousavi commended the resilience of the Islamic Republic of Iran. “Iran’s strength does not lie in individuals, but in its enduring institutions and strategic structures. That is what allows it to withstand repeated blows,” he said.
He further emphasized that these attacks are aimed at crippling the infrastructure of the regional resistance movements. However, he affirmed that such efforts will fail, adding: “Iran will respond at the appropriate time. It is not alone—it represents the strategic depth and collective strength of Shiites across the world.”
In conclusion, Ayatollah Mousavi declared: “Under the banner of Ali Wali Allah, the collapse of the Zionist regime is inevitable. The global Shiite community stands united, and the Resistance is far from being broken.”
