In his message, Ayatollah Milani emphasized the spiritual significance of the Islamic homeland, describing it as belonging to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and sanctified by the remembrance of Imam Hussain (PBUH), the Master of Martyrs.
“This country belongs to the Ahl al-Bayt of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), and these days are dedicated to mourning for Sayyid al-Shuhada (PBUH). Believers must honor these days with greater dedication than ever before,” the statement reads.
He urged mourners to:
- Deepen their observance of Ashura-related ceremonies;
- Pray fervently for the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (PBUH);
- Seek divine protection for the nation, its leadership, and its religious, political, and military figures from the hostility of Islam’s enemies.
Ayatollah Milani also reminded the faithful of the historical efficacy of collective prayer in times of hardship, saying:
“Reciting Ziyarat Ashura and the Hadith al-Kisa together has long been a tested spiritual practice among Shi’a during times of trial. I urge all believers not to neglect this tradition.”
The statement reflects the ongoing emphasis among religious authorities on preserving national unity, drawing spiritual strength from the Ahlul Bayt, and facing contemporary challenges with faith and resilience.
