In a strongly worded statement following recent Zionist aggressions and direct threats toward the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi condemned the actions of the Israeli regime and emphasized the pivotal role of the Supreme Leader as a symbol of unity and resistance in the Islamic world.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi declared:
“The Supreme Leader of the Revolution stands as the guardian of Shiite identity—and indeed the entire Islamic Ummah. His leadership is a central pillar of our belief. No righteous and free Muslim can remain silent in the face of threats against this sacred position.”
Addressing the crimes of the Zionist regime, including the recent attacks on Iran’s civilian infrastructure and media, the Grand Ayatollah added:
“In recent days, the barbaric Zionist regime has intensified its aggression against our beloved Iran—targeting innocent civilians, women, and children, and even striking media institutions. Despite these attacks, the Iranian nation remains steadfast, united, and inspired by divine promises of victory.
The statement also condemned the arrogance and desperation of Israeli leaders who, despite their declining influence and deteriorating control over the occupied territories, have dared to issue threats against the Supreme Leader—leaning on support from the U.S., European powers, and certain regional governments.
The Grand Ayatollah emphasized three key points:
1. Defense of Leadership:
“The position of the Supreme Leader is not only vital for Iran but represents the unity and identity of the broader Islamic Ummah. Muslims and freedom-loving people across the world must vocally and unequivocally reject these threats and stand in defense of this sacred leadership.”
2. Strategic Response:
“Our armed forces, with the strength and capability they have consistently demonstrated, must remain vigilant, take the initiative, and deliver powerful and unexpected responses that deter the enemy from harboring such aggressive intentions.”
3. Faith and Supplication:
“Our greatest strength lies in our faith. In these trying times, the people must turn sincerely to God, engage in heartfelt prayers, and seek refuge with the Infallible imams (peace be upon them). For as the Qur’an reminds us, ‘The hand of God is above their hands.’”
He concluded the message with prayers for divine support and peace.
