In a powerful statement during a meeting with the Board of Directors of Qom’s Central Radio and Television, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, member of the Expediency Discernment Council, emphasized that distinguishing the United States from the Zionist regime during the recent 12-day war is nothing short of ignorance. “From the very beginning, America has been the principal accomplice and backer of the Zionist regime,” he declared.
Ayatollah Araki praised the role of Iran’s national media in fostering hope, resistance, and perseverance during what he termed the “12-day imposed war.” He specifically commended the resilience of staff—especially Sahar Emami—at the Radio and Television center, which came under direct attack by the Zionist regime. “Their steadfastness in the face of aggression reflects the essence of Iranian resistance—an identity rooted in Alawi and Hosseini character,” he said.
As a member of both the Assembly of Experts and the Qom Seminary Teachers’ Association, Ayatollah Araki highlighted the strategic success of the Islamic Republic’s media apparatus during this critical period. “The strong performance of the national broadcaster helped shift the balance in the narrative war decisively in favor of Islamic Iran. You effectively complemented Iran’s military strength by steering public opinion toward truth and justice,” he said.
He went on to stress the historical and religious importance of media in shaping public consciousness and influencing the outcome of ideological battles. Drawing on Quranic verses and Islamic narrations, Ayatollah Araki stated, “Media has always played a vital role—from the Prophet’s time to the era of the Ahl al-Bayt—in constructing identity, creating public atmosphere, and shaping the direction of Islamic society.”
Calling the 12-day conflict with the Zionist regime even more significant than the eight-year Sacred Defense, he remarked: “Islamic Iran stood up to global arrogance—especially the United States—in a way that even major powers like China and Russia have not dared. This bold resistance proves that Iran is the true victor on the global stage.”
