Al-Abbas Holy Shrine Prepares to Host Third International Imamate Scientific Week

The Holy Shrine of al-Abbas (PBUH) is finalizing preparations to host the Third International Imamate Scientific Week, scheduled to begin on June 14, 2025.

a recent meeting at the Shrine reviewed the final logistical and academic preparations to ensure the event aligns with the spiritual and scholarly importance of Eid al-Ghadir, a central theme of the week.

Sheikh Ammar al-Hilali, head of the Department of Islamic and Humanistic Education Affairs at the Holy Shrine, stated: “This meeting focused on finalizing all aspects of the event to reflect the significance of the Imamate and its deep-rooted connection to the legacy of Eid al-Ghadir. Each detail has been carefully considered to ensure a high-level scholarly experience.”

He further noted that the week’s activities will include the presentation of research papers across twelve academic conferences, each dedicated to exploring the life and legacy of one of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them).

Specialized discussion panels and scholarly sessions will be held throughout the week, aiming to enhance the intellectual and religious discourse around the concept of the Imamate. These sessions are expected to contribute significantly to the scholarly engagement of both seminary and academic institutions.

Sheikh al-Hilali emphasized the active participation of seminary scholars and writers, who will present research grounded in the narrations of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT). Additionally, space has been set aside for academic researchers, with the goal of fostering dialogue and collaboration between seminary and university-based scholars.

The Al-Abbas (PBUH) Holy Shrine aims for this event to serve as a platform for promoting the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT), highlighting their relevance in addressing contemporary challenges, and confronting intellectual doubts and deviant ideologies.
