Afghan Shia Ulema Council: Iran-Zionist Conflict Is a Struggle Between Islam and Infidelity

Kabul, Afghanistan – The Afghan Shia Ulema Council has issued a condemnation of the recent Zionist military attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, calling it not merely a political conflict but a battle between the front of Islam and the forces of infidelity.

In a statement released via Hawzah News Agency, the Council denounced the airstrike—which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of Iranian scientists, military commanders, and civilians—as part of a broader Zionist strategy to destabilize the region and weaken the resistance front.

Quoting the Quranic verse from Surah Al-Ma’idah, “You will surely find the most bitter towards the believers to be the Jews and polytheists and the most gracious to be those who call themselves Christian,” (Al-Ma’idah, 82) the Council described the Zionist regime as inherently rooted in terror, bloodshed, and expansionism, citing its long-standing aim to dominate the region from the Nile to the Euphrates.

The statement emphasized that since its founding, the Zionist regime has continuously targeted Muslim populations—especially Palestinians—and that Iran, ever since the Islamic Revolution under Imam Khomeini (RA), has stood as the most formidable barrier to these ambitions.

The Council noted that the June 13 attack, occurring amid ongoing genocide in Gaza, was not an isolated incident but a continuation of the Zionist regime’s ongoing “terrorist and warmongering strategy” against the Axis of Resistance. It further warned that such aggression constitutes not only an attack on an independent state but a threat to regional and global security.

The Council criticized Western governments, particularly the United States, for their direct role in enabling the Zionist regime’s crimes through political, financial, and military support, stating that such an operation could not have occurred without Western backing.

Calling for immediate and decisive international action, the Council urged the United Nations, Islamic leaders, and global powers to break their silence and move to prevent further Zionist aggression.

In a show of solidarity, the Council expressed deep condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian government, and the families of the martyrs, and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. It concluded by emphasizing the need for Muslim unity and the unwavering support of all freedom-loving people for Iran in the face of continued Zionist hostility.
