Imam Ali Holy Shrine hosts international art exhibition celebrating islamic unity

The Holy Shrine of Imam Ali hosted an international visual arts exhibition inspired by the philosophy of anticipation in Islamic thought. The event brought together 60 artists from 14 countries, reflecting diverse cultures and traditions, and highlighting the shrine’s global role as a center for meaningful art and spiritual expression.

According to the shrine’s official website, the exhibition features a wide range of works, including paintings, contemporary and classical designs, digital art, and manuscripts. The collection showcases a convergence of languages and cultures, expressing unity among peoples awaiting Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him).

Sayed Kadhim Al-Kharsan, Director of the Imam Al-Hassan Center for Specialized Studies, described the exhibition as a unifying message that transcends borders, presenting anticipation as a shared spiritual and human value.

Dr. Abdul-Hadi Al-Ibrahimi, Head of the Antiquities and Heritage Unit, emphasized the role of art in fostering cross-cultural dialogue and praised religion’s influence in guiding artists toward deeper meaning. He added that the event enhances the global profile of Islamic art and strengthens international cultural engagement.

The head of the Qaf Foundation for Art and Media noted that participating artists, representing various countries and faiths, serve as cultural ambassadors. Several attendees—from countries including China and Brazil—are visiting Iraq and Najaf for the first time, underscoring the exhibition’s international reach and inclusive message.
