Iranian Short Film Wins Award at London International Muslim Film Festival

The short film “Opportunity to Connect”, directed by Amir Hossein Rostamzadeh, a graduate of the Imam Khomeini Seminary (RA) in Urmia, has won the second prize in the short film category at the London International Muslim Film Festival.

The film, written and performed by Abolfazl Jafarpour, explores the spiritual journey of a teenager experiencing the I’tikaf ceremony for the first time. It was produced in February 2025 at the Great Imam Khomeini (RA) Mosque in Urmia, during the province’s largest student I’tikaf gathering.

With its innovative artistic approach to cultural and spiritual themes, the short film captured the attention of international judges and audiences alike.

This recognition highlights the creative potential of young Iranian artists and students in producing works that combine cultural authenticity with universal artistic expression.
