Rabat Prepares for National March for Gaza in October

The National Secretariat of the Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine and Against Normalization has announced that a national march will take place in Rabat on Sunday, October 5.

The march will commemorate the second anniversary of the launch of the Al-Aqsa Storm, the statement said. The national march also aims to denounce the genocide, starvation, and the displacement of Palestinians.

The protest is part of a nationwide campaign in support of Palestinians who have been targeted by Israel’s genocidal war since October 7, 2023.

Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) have killed at least 64,871 citizens since that date, with the majority of the victims being children and women. At least 164,610 others have been injured as a result of the IOF’s relentless campaign. Tens of thousands more victims are feared to be under the rubble where ambulances and rescuers cannot reach.

Moroccan citizens have been protesting against the relentless genocide, calling for an immediate ceasefire and a strong government response against Israel.

Since October 2023, Morocco has hosted over 10,400 public solidarity campaigns.

The Moroccan Committee for the Support of Ummah’s causes said that a total of 9,820 sit-ins took place nationwide, as well as 660 marches to condemn the IOF’s genocide in Gaze.

The Moroccan committee also denounced the “positions of weak Arab and Muslim” countries in the face of the genocidal war.
