The meeting, which took place on Friday, brought together senior officials and cultural figures from both sides. Discussions centered on leveraging the educational and scholarly capacities of Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary (S) for international cooperation, particularly in Iraq.
Seyyedah Zohreh Borqai, Director of Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary (S), opened the session by highlighting the institution’s broad academic offerings—from seminary studies to university-level programs—which she noted are well-positioned to support cross-border educational initiatives. She also emphasized the Supreme Leader’s attention to the center’s strategic potential.
Hojjatoleslam Abu Zari praised the scholarly stature of Jamia Al-Zahra (S), stating: “No amount of praise can truly capture the value of this institution. It is time we move toward tangible collaboration.” He stressed the need for long-term planning, noting that training strategic managers through targeted courses and engaging with intellectual elites should be a top priority.
Seyyedeh Maryam Borqai, Director of the Jurisprudence Group at Jamia Al-Zahra’s Research Institute, underscored the center’s capacity in Islamic jurisprudence and the education of female scholars. She called for a structured approach that integrates traditional seminary teachings with contemporary academic methods to meet modern intellectual challenges.
Her presentation, which included data on the academic achievements of women scholars and faculty in jurisprudence, was met with wide appreciation.
Masoumeh Sharifi, Deputy Director of Propaganda and Cultural Affairs at Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary (S), highlighted the critical role of cultural networking in fostering international dialogue. She stressed that collaboration among cultural institutions is vital for sustainable global engagement.
The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to strengthen bilateral cooperation in two key areas: university-level education, focusing on training political and social activists; and theological education, aimed at preparing religious missionaries for international missions.
