The event, which took place at Sheikh Zakzaky’s residence in the Nigerian capital, drew a large gathering of scholars, journalists, and people from various religious and ethnic backgrounds. The ceremony was held in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine and in condemnation of the Zionist regime’s continued war crimes, particularly its targeting of civilians and children.
Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Zakzaky strongly denounced the occupying regime’s brutal actions and expressed deep sorrow over the ongoing suffering of the people of Gaza. He paid tribute to the steadfastness of Palestinian resistance fighters, calling their struggle a shining example of courage and sacrifice.
“Al-Quds is not merely a land—it is a sacred trust and a symbol of resistance and faith for the entire Muslim Ummah,” Sheikh Zakzaky said. “The Palestinian cause represents a universal struggle against oppression, and every believer who honors divine values must stand in its defense.”
The prominent Nigerian cleric also criticized the silence and inaction of certain Muslim leaders in the face of the Zionist regime’s crimes. “Jerusalem is a holy city that unites the hearts of all Muslims. Anyone who believes in God and the Judgement Day should be deeply concerned about its fate,” he added.
Sheikh Zakzaky concluded his remarks by calling on Muslims across the world to remain vigilant and resolute in defending al-Quds and all other occupied holy sites. He emphasized the need for unity among the Muslim Ummah in confronting Zionist aggression and supporting the Palestinian resistance until full liberation is achieved.
