Afghan Shia Ulema Council has issued a strongly worded statement regarding the U.S. president’s threat to assassinate Ayatollah Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The text of which is as follows:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful;
While the brutal Israeli aggression with the support of the United States continues on the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to reports from some Western media outlets, the tyrant President of the United States and the child-killing Prime Minister of the Zionist regime have threatened to assassinate the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Although the Supreme Leader (as he has said many times) welcomes martyrdom; but threatening a religious and spiritual leader of a religion and a country is against all international norms and law; As this foolish and ridiculous action can have dangerous regional and global consequences.
Therefore, the Afghan Shia Ulema Council strongly condemns this hostile rhetoric and, using this opportunity, once again calls on the UN authorities, especially Islamic countries, to prevent the continuation of aggression against the Muslim nation of Iran and to work towards establishing a lasting peace and stability in the region.
