Top Iraqi Cleric Slams Threats to Ayatollah Khamenei

A prominent Iraqi Shia scholar has strongly condemned recent threats made by the Israeli and American regimes against Imam Khamenei.

Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Taqi Modarresi, a leading religious scholar based in Karbala, Iraq, has issued a stern condemnation of Israel’s “blatant aggression” against Iran, noting that the Zionist regime of is violating international laws and basic human principles.

In a statement, Ayatollah Modarresi highlighted Israel’s threats against Islamic Revolution leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, describing such actions as the work of an “international terrorist mindset.”

“The Zionist regime continues its overt aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, disregarding all international laws and the simplest human principles,” Ayatollah Modarresi stated.

“Moreover, it has gone further by openly threatening to assassinate a prominent religious and political leader, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, which is only befitting of a targeted international terrorist mentality.”

The senior cleric warned countries supporting the Israeli regime to reconsider their stance, emphasizing that targeting religious symbols constitutes an attack on all Muslims. “We caution the countries backing this aggressor regime to think carefully about this dangerous move, which, by targeting religious symbols, amounts to a war against all Muslims,” he added.

Ayatollah Modarresi called on the global community to fulfill its responsibility by preventing Israel from plunging the region and the world into chaos. “We urge all nations to act and stop this regime from dragging the region and the world into turmoil, which will soon become uncontrollable,” he said.

The statement comes as the Israeli regime initiated attacks against Iran last Friday, targeting military and residential areas. Iran, in response, launched Operation True Promise III, targeting key Israeli military sites across the occupied territories.
