Qom — Grand Ayatollah Hossein Nouri Hamedani has strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrike targeting Iran’s national broadcasting center, calling it a blatant act of barbarism and a violation of all international norms.
In a statement, the senior Shia cleric declared that while journalists are traditionally protected during conflicts, the Zionist regime has historically disregarded such norms. “No war permits attacks on journalists, but this regime has martyred hundreds of reporters,” he stated. “Yesterday, it once again exposed its savage nature by targeting the Iranian Information Center in a cowardly assault.”
Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani described the attack as part of a broader pattern of Israeli aggression, noting that the regime’s existence is rooted in violence and sustained through continued attacks on others. “From Gaza to Lebanon, Syria, and now Iran—its acts of aggression know no bounds,” he said, adding that such actions are in direct violation of international laws.
Despite the attack, he praised the resilience of Iranian media workers, emphasizing their continued commitment to their mission. He also lauded the unity shown by the Iranian people in the face of the assault. “The late Imam [Khomeini] once said our people are better than those of early Islam. Today, we witness the truth of those words,” he said.
Ayatollah Hamedani urged ongoing support for the Supreme Leader, the armed forces, and the intelligence community of the Islamic Republic, stressing that “a strong and unified response” is essential to avenging the blood of Iran’s innocent civilians, military commanders, and scientists.
