Ayatollah Hafiz Syed Riaz Hussain Najafi, head of the Pakistan Shia Schools Alliance, in his Friday prayer sermons held at Imam Ali Mosque in Lahore, pointed out the regional developments, especially the situation in Syria, and stated,” Currently, a government has come to power in Syria with the direct support of the United States and the Turkish government, which is not a true representative of the oppressed people of Syria, but is also seeking to expand its relations with Donald Trump, the US President, and the Zionist usurper regime. This deviant approach means distancing itself from the path of resistance and the interests of the Islamic Ummah.”
Ayatollah Hafiz Riaz Najafi, while expressing concern about the support of some regional countries for such a government, stated,” This support has made the Syrian crisis more complicated and it is necessary for the Islamic Ummah to stand against the conspiracies of the enemies of Islam with awareness, insight and unity.”
In another part of his speech, the Pakistani scholar pointed out the experience of unity in the history of Pakistan and said,” During the time when Pakistan was being founded, all Islamic schools of thought stood united, and today, whenever national security is threatened, our nation, by putting aside religious and intellectual differences, stands like a strong wall against the enemies. We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the homeland, but we will never allow the country’s honor and territorial integrity to be tarnished.”
The head of Pakistan Shia Schools Alliance concluded by saying, “The way to overcome the current crises is to return to the original Islamic values, strengthen the unity of the Islamic Ummah, and stand firm against global arrogance.”
